Are the bolsters real leather or just nice plastic?

The seat backs on my old Megane were vinyl, and it said so in no uncertain terms on the bumpf that cam with it. I think leather means '100% leather', otherwise it has to be described as 'part-leather'

But if you're not sure, have a look at the stitching holes. If you look carefully, you may be able to see where the fabric backing has been pulled through to the surface by the thread in the form of white fluff. Proper leather won't suffer from that problem...

Some areas are vinyl type stuff (as with all VW) but the actual facings should be leather. You can normally feel the non-leather bits. Checkout the headrests as an easy example of what is and what isn't leather.

Leather, perforated suede and cloth/mesh.

They feel more plastic than leather, certainly not as leathery as seats in BMW's or even Vauxhalls!

I thought only the face of the seats were leather, back and sides man-made material.

Don't know where I read that though. Maybe the small print in the brochure?

They are real leather on the seat facings.

If you look carefully the grain and surface reflectivity changes between the leather on the bolster and the side of the seat or front of seat.

If they were all fake leather Skoda would use the same finish/material on all surfaces.

A question I had a panic over after I ordered. I was assured that the seats ( bolsters) were leather. There isnt much of a leather wiff I'll admit. Opening the door to a Ltd Ed Fabia vRS with full leather and Owning a golf lV Gti with full leather recaros certainly provideds a more reassuring pong.

You just need to get some good quality leather cleaner, I use Gliptone, into the seats (and you can spead a bit on the vinyl as well) to get that 'straight from the cow smell'.
