Dull thud - Furby vRS

Featured Replies

My new Furby has developed a possible fault on which I'd welcome comment. After breaking to rest (say at a junction), on pull away, there is a dull 'thud' from the bulkhead area. It just happens the once and nothing is heard again until the car next comes to rest, when on pulling away...etc etc you get the picture. Could it be the ABS?

A few posts seem to suggest it is the ABS testing itself. Personally I can't say I've noticed anything unusual myself, but that might just be my hearing going ;)

My Octy does it once in the first few metres of driving firs thing in the morning. It will do it again if it has been park up up for a few hours.

Don't know if the ABS evacutates every time you come to a stop.

If it only happens once while you are driving until the next time the engine is started then it is the ABS self test, if it happens after every time that you stop (i.e. traffic lights) then it is something else and you should get the dealer to look at it unless anyone else has a solution on this forum.

Jeff is right - it's not the ABS self test. Does it do it at really slow speeds and gentle accelerations? If you can see anything loose under the bonnet yourself, try asking someone to look while you drive the car with the bonnet open - hence the slow speeds.

When I first got my Octy is always made a clunk when turning right out of my road.

I knew is was the suspension and probably the springs needing bedding in.

May be it's something similar.
