I have a problem of not being to select 1st ,2nd, 3rd of 4th gear , this was while stationary at a junction. Prior to stopping i had driven 90 miles on the motorway. I managed to select gear by switching off the engine and selecting gear, and then i managed to reach my destination. After approx 6 hrs, RAC mechanic checked over the vehicle - SKODA - SUPERB, SEPT 2005, 130 BHP, 144K. I managed to drive the vehicle back home to London, no sign of problem surfaced, but i was driving and selecting gears and operating clutch carefully.

1. Is the clutch system hydraulic and does it share the hydraulic fluid with the brake system ?.

2. Could this be a gearbox fluid level issue ?.

3. Clutch pedal travel and feel has not changed.

Urgent help required please......

Thanks in advance
