Mental engine fans??

Featured Replies

Morning all,

My engine fans have suddenly developed a life of their own! (when i'm out of the car  )

Can anyone help suggest what the problem could be?? It's draining the battery very fast and i'm a bit stuck...

(currently unplugged battery to save me having to jump start)

Ta,

MPM :)

edit: oh yes, it's an Octy 2 vRS estate :)

had this on mine at teh dealer before I picked it up. they said it was a faulty fan sensor or relay, cant remember which. i think youll need a visit to the dealer.

Just had this one sorted on my VRS. Apparently there was water getting into the electrics somewhere (think it was the relays). The radio also kept coming on and the one touch windows only occasionally worked – all fixed now the unit has been replaced.

Maybe unrelated but whilst it was in the garage the tire pressure sensor button on the centre consol malfunctioned (smoke coming from it when pressed) and I ended up having to have part of the wiring loom replaced.

It's in the garage today, i'm suspecting a dodgy connection or sensor somewhere. I've got my fingers crossed that it's nothing too drastic!

Rizla, can you PM me the garage that solved this problem for you please? I'll see if my garage can give them a call as they're a bit stumped at the moment.
