Maxidot Computer Display

Featured Replies

Please can someone explain, simply, what the various displays mean on Maxidot?

I have just had a 2.0 fsi L&K delivered and I'm strugggling with the definitions in the handbook.

The handbook is crap when it comes to all things maxidot, I was reading it last night and it's terrible!

It really depends what you want to know specifically

The question has been asked a few times on here, not sure if anyone has compiled a full directory of all the functions but I have seen a few small guides.

Someone uploaded an Adobe Web Photo Gallery showing various maxidot screens, but no descriptions unfortunately.

The main things you can change are measurement units (kmh or mph), time settings, language settings, temperature units and convienience settings (three indicator flashes from a single press, the way the doors unlock when you press the keyfob, single or all, anti-hijack mode, where the doors lock when you pull away etc).

If your car has rain sensors, the option is there to switch on rain closing - this closes your windows / sunroof automatically when you leave them open and the car is parked.

If the Skoda sat nav system is installed the maxidot also shows your next turn / street name and doubles up as a compass display.

If the Skoda bluetooth kit is installed, the maxidot shows who's calling, the phone book contacts, etc...

There is also the audio menu, this relays information from the car stereo like CD track, radio station etc.

MFD is the multi function display, this shows average speed, average fuel consumption, driving time elapsed, fuel tank range, instantaneous fuel consumption and overspeed warning as well as any general warning messages:

Seat belt warning

Door open status

Low external temperature

Bulb failure including which bulb has popped

Low washer fluid

Refuel warning

Low oil/coolant to name but a few, these are the more common ones.

Specific enquiries would be easier to answer as the Maxidot display is a veritable swiss army knife.

Just been reading the manual on the Maxidot again, and came across a supplement to the owners manual in the owners pack.

Copied out below for anyone who is interested or hasn't got the supplement, (my comments are in brackets).

Door open - Here you can switch on or off the functions for opening a single door and automatic closing (anti-hijack)

ATA Confirm - Here you can set if a signal tone should sound additionally when activating or deactivating the anti-theft alarm system.

Conv. mode - Here you can set the convenience mode only for the driver window or for all the windows (one touch operation of windows)

Mirror adjust. - Here you can switch on or off the function for mirror adjustment on the front passenger side when engaging the reverse gear. (not on my car, cause I have reverse sensors?)

Mirror adjust. - Here you can switch on or off the function for left and right exterior mirror adjustment simultaneously.

Rain-closing - On vehicles with rain sensor you can switch on or off the functions for automatic closing of the sliding/tilting roof in case of rain. If it is not raining and the function is set, the windows including the sliding/tilting roof are closed automatically after approx. 12 hours.

Factory Setting - After selecting this menu the convenience setting is reset to factory setting. The following is displayed in the information display:

Factory setting for convenience is set.

Hope this helps.
