Superb help needed

Featured Replies

I have recently noted a low noise coming from my o3 1.9 TDI Superb. I can only describe it as a "woo...woo...woo" sound when cornering at low speed. I have circled it at full lock and can't hear anything from the CV joints, I have also jacked it up and spun/rocked the wheels and the bearings seem o.k, steering wheel doesn't vibrate and car doesn't pull to the side. I have had a few 1.9 tdi golfs/passats and have never heard anything like it.

Has anyone had a similiar problem, could it be a warped brake disk or is it just caused by the 17" wheels.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

John

Probably just the brake pads

Warped discs will give you a pulse in the pedal

Other possibles are debris caught between the disc and pads/shield, and the last one I can think of is tyre pressure, or just the tyre itself has worn in one spot, have you had to jam on lately?

Thanks for reply.

I took one of the front wheels off today to find a large lump on the inside wall of the (nearly new) tyre, possibly could be cause. Took the back wheel off to rotate and found a simialrly large nail in it. Always something.

I was just going to say before reading your last post, I had same noise and found the tyre to be flat from the same thing a nail, pumped it up no noise, solution replaced the tyre lol
