Rio Karma MP3 and Ipod Adaptos

Featured Replies

I've recently purchsed a Rio Karma MP3 player (like this one - http://www.lordpercy.com/rio_karma.htm). I've tried using it the car with one of those little FM transmitters but I'm not impressed and have given up with it.

So now I'm pondering what the next move should be (for my 54 plate Octy II 2.0 TDi Elegance with standard OEM Stream headunit)....

Will the Rio work with one of the Skoda/VW Ipod adaptors?

What other bits / leads do I need to make it work?

Will I be able to control it from the head unit? (Useful but I could live without it)

I have an OEM 6 disc CD changer in the boot - the type with one slot and 6 buttons on rather than the one where you load CDs into a magazine. I believe this won't work with the Ipod adaptor installed, so I guess I could sell it to fund the Ipod adaptor. What's it worth? Is the changer saleable on its own, or would the wire that goes from the boot to the head unit need to be stripped out and sold with it?

Any ideas of typical installation costs? I very much doubt it is something I would want to tackle myself.

Any advice welcome.
