I just ordered a race blue Octavia Vrs tdi 170 bhp combi with the following options:

Cruise

18" wheels

Jumbo box

rear electric windows

parking sensors

maxi dot

climate control

Due for delivery from Ingram Skoda in Ayr at end of September! Currently drive an Audi A4 S-line tdi avant and hope the Skoda will be just as good! The audi's boot was too small for my tools so it had to go! Couldn't believe the room in the back of the Octavia.

I have am currently "converting" from an Audi A4 20TDI Avant to the TDI vRS . As you say, tons more room, and I actually think the vRS drives/ handles better that the Avant !.

Never thought I would say that ! .

I have ordered my octavia without even driving or seeing a VRS! My dealer had a scout 2.0tdi and I drove that. There are no Skoda dealers close to me which have a diesel VRs demonstrator! I dont think i'll be disappointed though. Due to pick up my car on September 22nd, cant wait!
