Don't own a Skoda....

Featured Replies

But I DO share an engine with some of y'all

I've an Audi A3 TQ with an ARX engine. Found this site while searching for info on it :holmes: Can't stick around right now, but I've already found a bit of good info here, so thanks, and

Nice choice of engine there, Drill - ie the same as the Octavia 4X4 - and very tuneable it is too! Do you have an FEX gearbox by any chance? :D

I wasn't sure if the thread title was an instruction or an observation... :P

I've not heard of the TQ - is that the one's labelled "1.8T" normally?

Thanks for the welcome

I use TQ to shorten down Turbo Quattro as that gets tiring after a while :D Plus, I tend to refer to my car as the TQ so....

Not sure which transmission I've got, but it IS a 5 speed, and I think the FEX is a 6 speed, isn't it? Don't know, but I'll look on the data sticker. Any idea what else there'd be? It's never really come up on the other boards :smashfrea

Oh, and as for tuneable.... tell me about it :D I went from 150ps/210nm to 210ps/329nm just from the Oettinger remap :bowdown1:

Pay attention, Q and look at Drill's profile! The FEX is a 5 speed gearbox for the Octavia 1.8T 4X4, Drill. See below for what I got in isolation from a Jabba remap. Oh, and a big welcome to yet another member from Germany!!!

Dude, just went out in the rain and got my service book. It does indeed say FEX  TBH, not many of the guys from the other boards are familiar with my engine code, so I found y'all  Anyway, as I was saying, my service book has ARX EUL and then FEX on there under Motor/Transmision type. Any idea what the EUL is? And what's M5S? Another tranny type?

Thx, and those are some pretty serious numbers from Jabba :peepwall:

Is EUL on the same line as Model Description? Mine has ELE which stands for Elegance, ie trim level. You will need to go to an Audi dealer - or get hold of a copy of ETKA - to decode the various optional equipment codes. VAG use different codes for the various brands so I can't help with M5U. For interest, Dill, have you had the coilpacks changed on your car?

Yup, 4 spanking new (Revision "L" IIRC) coilpacks, but it took me 3 trips to the dealer to get them all replaced :smashfrea On the EUL bit, then it's prolly Ambiente, as that's what trim I got. So what's the deal with the FEX tranny anyway? On one of these posts I saw something that said close-gear, but is it really?? Most of the other guys I know have S3's or at least, different specs, so since mine's German spec I've just not worried about a few things. But I remember someone coming over to Tyresmoke and posting about getting MUCH higher numbers on their Skoda than we'd seen, so it was looked into, and the whole K03S subject came up. I've been trying to confirm this for a while now, but nobody's been familiar with the ARX :smashfrea But it looks like THAT problem has been solved.

Anyway, it's time to go home, thanks for the welcome and the help.

Talk to y'all later
