Speakers to complement Pioneer DEH77MP?

Featured Replies

I've installed my new head unit - if I got the model number wrong its the nice silver retro-looking unit with two large knobs (!!). I think some other people on the forum bought this unit too... Problem is the standard speakers sadly just aren't up to the job.

So... my question is, would anyone recommend any particular speakers to go with my head unit? I want the two front door ones (2 ways - I'll disconnect the tweeter) and also some rears (6x4 inch on the Fabia estate IIRC). No sub for now 'cause I need the boot space - it is an estate after all...

How much should I spend? I want quality sound to match the HU but I don't want to spend money for the sake of it...

Personally, for the fronts I'd aim in the "upper budget range" - about

Joe,

I've just put rainbow components into mine, but they're rather pricey.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Think I'll have a look at the Pioneers. I'll probably go for components in the front... I think the HU will drive them OK and I can add an amp and sub later if necessary.

Are the Pioneer speakers shallow enough to fit the doors (with the VW spacers obviously). The shot where someone had cut part of the door frame away looked a bit drastic and I want to avoid this if possible!
