I'm impressed

Featured Replies

After having all my my ICE put in the Octy I am well impressed at the build quality. I am pumping out some serious bass and the thing does rattle but not half as much as my hurunda coupe did. So methinks not much sound deadining is needed  Gonna do the numberplate first as that is always a criminal for going buzz then gonna play hunt the buzz  Just to bore you I am running

Alpine er hmm forgot the name headunit :D

Planet Audio 400W RMS Amp (very nice and very powerful)

Cerwin Vega Stealth

tweeters, mids and 6x9's

Cerwin Vega

12" Sub built into a bloody massive ported coffin box

I reccomend Cerwin Vega to anyone who is serious about there music as they are so clear and their subs may be expensive but boy do they drop gives your gizzits a good shake I will tell you  :speaker: :speaker: :speaker:

Did K&M Do the install for you???

Sounds like the kit keith would offer up ???

Cheers

why use a ported box?? i personally prefer a sealed box, it takes a bit more power to run the subs but you get much crisper punchier bass.

i currently run an alpine 9815r unit(very nice)

mb quart premium reference components up front

and a pair of 250w rms 10" rockfords in a sealed box - currently running off a RF 200.A1(i think) mono block, need a bigger amp as this isn't really big enough, thumps well but still needs more power

i also got the fronts/rears amped too, fronts off of an pheonix gold 2180 and the backs off of an alpine amp similar to the PG.

one nice thing about the head unit is you can turn the internal amp off when using external amps so that you get a clearer sound, less interference

Have you compared and can you actually hear a difference ?

Yup Tim K&M did my install already had the kit from my old car.

With regards the ported box Cerwin Vega subs need to be in a large ported box because they drop lowwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!

Ahh.. hunt the buzz! I know that game well - rebuilt a parcel shelf twice, MDF \ piano hinges \ sunblind and self withdrawing support strings.... all bolted onto a sealed coffin \ box... still had buzz...

Realised then it was the spoiler vibrating!!!!

Argh! :D

Thought as much. Keith and Mike are great lads.If a little too technical for my meager mind. And sure now there stuff.

Recently done my new 04 Vrs and my last 52 Vrs.

Phone, sat nav, and ICE..

Cheers

Tim
