with the analogue signal due to be switched off, this will make our superb headunits obsolete, as well as maxidot and steering remotes, unless listening to cd or tape! Is there any way to stop this from happening? Is there someway that we will be able to upgrade and still have full functionality of our cars standard kit?

That's an interesting thought... Is it time to eBay the MFD before it's worthless? :thumbdwn: Lets hope Skoda produces out with some form of adaptor.

you're not getting confused with TV are you?

analogue radio is also due to be turned off just after all the tv regions have been completed, just after 2012..

the thing is that while its going to happen there are no really good DAB headunits out there at the moment and the DAB boxes are expensive at around

Am am pretty confident that I won't have a Superb by then but either way it's a long way off.......

I've not heard this either. The way head unit manufacturers have turned their backs on DAB, I'm not at all sure what's going on. The only ones who embraced it properly were Blaupunkt really. I believe it's still part of their range as well. Alpine, Sony & JVC all released tuners or add-on boxes but to be honest they all looked like a bit of an afterthought.
