Get the Onyx instead its just as good and only

I'm looking at getting the Onyx but I am curious about the Shield as I am a high mileage driver and it might be the better way to go. Does it do what it says on the tin I wonder?

I'm trawling t'interweb for opinions but thought I should ask here for first hand comments.
