Superb rotation sensor

Featured Replies

I got a front wheel bearing replaced on my Superb, got car back with ABS/ASR lights on, mechanic I used doesn't have computer to clear error. So brought to my usual mechanic to clear. Apparantly now 1st mechanic didn't fit or damaged the rotation sensor:thumbdwn: my mechanic didn't have time to check it as we only thought he had to clear the error.

My question is can anyone tell me how to fit the sensor correctly or if I can do it myself or if it is broken how many lids is it going to cost me.

Thanks

It sounds like he may well have damaged the rotor on the hub. It will need a new one and you will have to have a press to change it. Bill i would think will be a couple of hundred as the bearing will need to be changed agan.

Don't like the sound of that. Mechaic 1 will be getting the bill.

this has just happened to my one i think its similar , if it is its the two yellow lights on the speedo they stay on , if thats the case its the speed sensor intermitting signal , and what it was on mine was he put new pads on the front and the sensor had popped out of its casing in the hub so he stripped it all down and just placed the sensor back to its original place and everything is back to normal no lights just back to the way it should be .hope this helps good luck

Odd as the sensor shouldnt just pop put, they are quite a tight fit. However it may not be pushed in far enough, this is pretty simple to check.

Anyone able to tell me how to remove the abs sensor?

I had this similar problem on my Bora some years back and it turned out that the sensor had just failed over time, replacing it, as Lummox has said, is fairly straight forward but these sensor's are a very tight fit and require a lot of force to usually get them out of place....
