Clunk

Featured Replies

I've noticed the last few days when starting my (7000 mile) 140PD DSG Octy from stone cold, I get a clunk which is enough to make me wince as the engine moves for the first time when the starter motor starts to roll. Once warm, I don't get the noise.

Its been a little buzzy on initial acceleration and I've been concerned that the ex manifold/heat shield might be to blame. Could also be responsible for a clunk? does anyone think?

Or engine mount? (but would they be affected by warmth of the engine? - shouldn't have thought so).

Incidentally, it hasn't been serviced yet...

Any thoughts anyone?
