Changing gear?

Featured Replies

When changing from 1st to 2nd gear it's not very smooth and i can hear a clonking nosie? Is this common? it's been like it since i brought the car any ideas thanks.

I have exactly the same problem. If anyone can help anwer this then please do.

I have a years warranty anyway so it will be going back, but i would like an idea to what

the problem could be, could it be a knocking drive shaft?

My dads car is similar, however, I think it might be the gear linkage needs resetting. Just haven't got around to it yet.

AFAIK - most likely the selector needs minor adjustment. Details can be found here (at the end of this page): Sigma 6 SS Install Manual

Only difference is that you release the cable clamps inside the engine bay, by pulling and twisting the knurled kn0bs http://www.dieselgeek.com/images/DCP_1856.JPGand then lock them up again when all is lined up inside the car. (you stick a drill/nail through a little hole that puts the gearkn0b in perfect position) see http://www.dieselgeek.com/images/DCP_4498.JPG

Also a little bit of cleaning and few dabs of nylon-friendly grease on the selector on top of the tranny made mine mondo smooth..
