I have 17563 - Manifold Pressure Sensor (G71): Short to Plus, new sensor???? fault code on a 1.6 16v 2001 car (actually my friends golf, but should be the same as in the Octavia I expect - vw vortex is down or I'd search there) anyone had this before or know if it's likely a new sensor?

The vehicle - due for a service - is intermittantly not starting properly as well, several attempts needed then starting with splutters for a few seconds till all seems normal. Sometimes starts okay!

Apprecaited advice if anyone has had this fault code/replaced this sensor.

i've seen the same sensor fail on the lupo's before.... but they aint cheap... approx £120 iirc
