I asked the dealer to turn the ‘chirp’ on, but he told me that it is now illegal. :confused: Is this true? Anyone else heard this?

From wat i knew, the prefacelift models can be vagcom to turn on the chirp when locking or unlocking.

For the Facelifted models from what i knew even if you turn on using vagcom there will still be no chirping. Reason because the facelifted model ecu did not have the function written into the system already.

Can't say that I have heard of this? I would be lost without my 'beeping'!!

I got my Superb to chirp when activating the central locking at the end of September at White Dove in Cardiff.

When I bought the car in May this year, it was part of the deal that I would have mudflaps fitted all round, but they didn't have them in stock before I collected the car. As I'm 40 miles away from the dealer, I didn't rushed back to have them done. I was in lectures at Miskin Manor, so I took the opportunity as I was in the area and asked for the chirp to be programmed at the same time!

All was done with no charge - nice one White Dove!

Mine is the post face lift model and the chirp works!
