Updated Grill and Rear Light Clusters

Featured Replies

Hello, has anyone either done or considered replacing the grill and rear lights with the revised later versions? I am presuming they would fit straight on, but this might not be the case! Anyone done it? :)

They should go straight on, but is there actually any difference in the rear lights? I followed a 57 plate the other day at night and didn't notice anything...

There is me thinks, but some late plate cars have the older style lights, maybe the ones that have been sat around for a while as they run down the stocks. I have seen cars as early as 55 with the later rear lights i think

It had the indicators in the mirrors, so it was a "facelift"

The grille would fit but you would need to buy the new frame for it as well....

The rearlamps are a straight swap but I prefer the originals......the difference between the two is that the new rearlamps have a 'Smoked C Shape' section on them that is a 'rip - off' the Octavia MK2....

Each to their own I guess....

At the moment I have MOT'd, taxed and Serviced it so for a while I will stick with it......unless some wants it at the right price.....LOL!!!

I toyed with the idea of swapping my rear lights to the 'grill n mirror facelift' style ones, but then thought..... nah!

All I have done is swap my side repeaters for smoked ones, cost about £6 to do, so I was happy with that.

Which spec are the smoked ones from?

Just ask the dealer for some Smoked Side DI's off a Fabia, Octavia vRS and they will find them on the system no problem......

Cheers

For reference this is what they look like in the flesh....
