Install Part 1

Featured Replies

Now Dave cleared my boot on Saturday  i thought i would start on the install.

Didn't end up doing much as the sun was out making my head even more red than it was yesturday.

Removed all my amps and emptied boot.

Removed Changer and looked at the task in hand

Can't see any circuit breakers or fuse blocks there  (yet). Please tell me you are going to fit them

Thats because they are still in the bag off goodies  The distribution/fuse block will be on show so need to get the boards in before i can mount it.

Once i have the DVD mounts finished and surround sorted then i can sort the mounting off the amps. Need easy access to the bumper bolts (the ones that hold the multichanger bracket in place) as the bumper will be coming off on the 24th when it goes in the body shop.

Paul,

If you've got the trim out it would be worth adding a bit of sound deadening material - I've just finished doing that on my estate whilst changing the speakers. Took some time to do the job properly but it was worth it - cut down the road noise and no trim vibrations when the volume is turned up.

Being a cheap skate, I opted to use several layers of 8" wide aluminium backed bitumen flashing tape on the bodywork and plastic trim panels. May not be as good as the puka stuff but still worked. I also packed rockwool insulation into various voids and behind panels to stop them rattling against the wheel arches.

I'll post a few pics when I get around to downloading them off the camera.

Vibrations are not really an issue. Before i started to do the install properly it did not vibrate at all even at high volume. Will be putting some in the boot lid as i have loads of dynamat extreme in the garage from when i did my clio.

Lad can ya tell me how u ran the D.C. from the battery.

Thanks Kel
