  1. Just got an issue with my 08 Octavia ,when passenger door is opened interior light does not come on little light on door is also not lit . everything else works ie elec window central locking etc . changed bulb in door light no different even changed the complete light fitting in door still no joy . any ideas .is it connected to the first post .
  2. They are pretty Good i have the Heki version on my 2005 estate and they not only improve the look of the car they are brilliant at keeping water from running off roof and into car when window open even slightly . Back o/s came unstuck after a couple of years so i removed both backs .Fronts are still going strong i am just looking for another set for my newer Estate .
  3. just got a replacement 1.9tdi estate an 08 replacing my 05 . 05 has now done 278k miles and not needed a bump stop but the 08 needs near side replacing so it will be first job done on newly aquired car - spare parts place couldnt give me correct part off registration saying it may be oval it may be round
  4. mine stopped working and after stripping panel and shoving wires in nozzle to unblock found the pipe had snapped as it went through rubber grommet into back nearside panel at side of tailgate,
  5. FAG superb quality original equipment standard think i paid circa £60
  6. I have used the cheaper vag oil bought from TPS I buy in 20L drum its Synta 10/40 part synthetic i have done over 120k miles in last 4 yrs and engine is still perfect passing emmisions test easily on the near dozen Mots i have had (Taxi) and it gets through with fast pass .Car is 2005 1.9tdi
  7. best replacement for a 1.9 is another 1.9 stay away from digital and dpf
  8. being a taxi driver i am unsure as to wether dsg would cope ,it would be nice to have auto but MPG tends to suffer and repairs when needed are astronomical . I am looking at several cars at moment - i have found MOT tester history on gov site to be a useful tool in getting a picture of cars history and usage . One in particular looks fantastic untill you see same FNS suspension problem mentioned in advisories on consecutive mot.s Well maintained ?
  9. I am delighted with my Octavia estate hence i want to go for another same although slightly newer.Have always been a skoda fan Had a 1.3 GL nearly 30yrs ago that i did galactic miles in with almost no problems .Trying to get one with around a 100k miles that has a full service history and with a bit of luck has had clutch and flywheel replaced as well as timing belt and waterpump , May even go for leather i have a couple of examples in mind ,i thought leather would only be found in L K examples that had DSG gearbox that i will avoid with a passion.
  10. Thats more like it ,£299 is a price i might expect to pay.
  11. Looking to update my 2005 1.9 Tdi estate and i have found many at good prices and a mechanic said what about the DPF ,I was of the mind that all 1.9s didnt have such hindrance . What is latest year i can go to get model without DPF and are there any other downsides to certain years or indeed a particular year that may be better than others.
  12. a chap sorted a group buy for bonnet struts on here about 3 yrs ago i got one, think it was about £30 fitted easily and works perfectly to this day .
