Been remapped!!!!!!

Featured Replies

Well i got my VRS mapped by star performance yesterday and got 207hp and 232lb ft of torque and what a difirrence it makes, car is transformed!!!! But one thing is at higher rpm and speed there is what i can only describe as a very slight split second pause from the engine, i done some searching on here and as i already have a forge 007p fitted could this be the issue that a new N75 will solve as some people have done and suggested???

All in very happy tho!!

Well done, and at least your figures are believable.

The hesitation you describe has been experienced by others in the past with custom maps from jabba. No one has ever got to the bottom of it though.

Well done to Star for giving very realistic power figures too

oh i got myself a little laminated print out showing before and after figures with graphs too should anyone ever question me lol

Ah well thats good to know its not just my car, as its common i presume its not detrimental to the car?

We are working on it.

Crikey theres alot of us lol well as i said its at least reassuring that its common, ive emailed star where i got the map done to see if jim has any ideas.

Does this happen when accelerating at full bore near the top end? What revs/gears etc or is it all? I havent seen the issue on mine.

  • Author

only seems to be when building up through the revs, doesnt happen low down and doesnt affect the cars performance its just a wee split second pause

Adkos, i've posted in the main thread but I personally think this is going to be down to;

N75

Turbing piping

I've tried unplugging the maf, 3 different diverter valves and my throttle body is clean.

Hope this helps :)

Very Simular figures to me. I got 208 BHP & 220.9 lb ft.

Oh! I laminated my Sheet to.

my sheet came laminated :P lol

are you suffering from the same hesitation as some of us are?

Oh and another thing i forgot to mention, proof that higher grade fuel does work, first thing i got asked when i got the car back was "do you use good fuel in it?" coz the figures were slightly higher than he was expecting.....result!!!!! :D

I tend to use cheepo fuel, but have just started using V Power again.

Yes i do get some hesitation.

Is your changing of gear smooth ? i tend to get a little kick feeling on changing gear, but i think its my clutch on its way out.

  • Author

Cant say ive noticed, my gear change is as slick as it was prior to the remap.

I get a tiny surge then turbo cannot seem to decide between full boost and about half boost.Settles down in about 2-3 seconds though.

ADOKS i have just seen in the searches that your mechanic once suggested that your turbo piping was clogged.

Did you ever get this cleaned?

  • Author

Yeah i did at the last service they were cleaned out.
