Just bought a used Octy 2 (04). Everything is fine apart from the Stream radio. It was bad at the start (no AM, poor FM) and Skoda replaced it with a new Stream as well as replacing the aerial booster . The new unit still has poor FM reception and the signal hisses audibly when you put the rear window heater on (surely not right?). It is much inferior to my 10 year old Blaupunkt in our Golf. It seems I may not be alone from other posts; is it the aerial wire?

Where to go from here other than back to the garage?

That doesn't sound right to me, although while I can't help with that problem, the Octy 2 seems to suffer from pretty poor radio reception anyway. I generally listen to Radio 1 which is one of the strongest broadcast stations so it's ok, but other stations tend to be a bit weak and I occasionally get momentary crossover from other stations.

Must be a stream problem as the MFD2 is pretty good with AM/FM reception. The Audience unit is very good as it has the dual diversity antenna system.

You definitely have a problem, noise is being induced into the wire between the roof antenna and the head unit. Take it back and let them sort it. If the head unit and roof mounted antenna/amp have been replaced it has to be the aerial lead between the two.
