WS2003 AD Password policy

Featured Replies

Having trouble relaxing the password policy.

I've created a new GPO which has the enforce password policy disabled, however when I try and create a user which doesn't meet this, I still get the "does not meet password complexity" message.

Even after doing a gpupdate /force on the DC, still nothing. Where am I being stupid?

Password policies are only effective on the default domain policy GPO

You can put them anywhere else and they don't have any effect

Hmm. I tried applying it to the default one too and still no joy...

Is there a certain amount of time for it to have effect? Should I wait 10 minutes between doing the GPO mod and then trying to create the user?

Dunno then.

Try using the the RSOP tool and see if it tells you where the policy is coming from
