Problems with extra door keys

Featured Replies

Hello!

I had only one key for my Superb. But I bought one keyfob from ebay, and got the blank key cut so it fit my Superb. I also synconized the key so I can now open and lock the door with the key.

My problem is that a can't start the car. The anti-theft system stops the engine.

Do I have to program the key? Isn't the synconization progress enough?

I'm not positive, though I'd guess it'd have to be plugged into VAG-com. My old Saab 9-5 needed a new key, and it had to be plugged into Tech2 (equiv of VAG-Com) in order to work.

I'm pretty sure it can only be matched with VAG-COM, however you will need your SKC code to do it (dealers)

The problem is I'm sure i read a thread on here stating the dealers will no longer give the code out??

Here it is

However it is also recorded on a 'plastic loop' that is supplied with the cars spare keys.
