The Turbo in a V6 TDi.

Featured Replies

Hello Folks...

Does anyone know what make the Turbo is on the 2.5 V6 TDi, and does anyone know if its possible to upgrade?

I know lost of options exists for the 1.8T/1.9TDi but I never seen any mention of what could be done with the 2.5??

Its more for info than anything else as this engine to me is pretty much a dark horse in comparison to the other Skoda VAG engines....

Cheers Folks...

I think I remember hearing it was a VNT20 as standard on the V6. Guess with it being VNT, in theory you could stick most of the VNT hybrids out there onto the V6 manifold?

So what could be bolted on?

What kind of prices?

I think I would speak to Allard or someone similar. I'm not sure if they've ever done a V6 TDI before, but in theory all their VT1 to VT7 turbos could be bolted to the V6 exhaust manifold to create a hybrid turbo for that engine. Then I guess it will be down to mapping. Might need other mods too though. The V6 is a non PD engine right? So it will probably be easier to increase fuelling through injector swaps.

It is a non PD engine and one that is not mentioned at all. It's quite old technology, but in my eyes, very bullet proof.

But like the non PD 110, it's still VNT turbo, so that technology can be applied when it comes to modding. I wonder if it uses fuel injection similar to the VE engines?

This is where I wish I knew more about the inards of a car than I do..... :(
