isofix

Happy christmas peeps!!

A quick one, does my Superb (03 registered Comfort) have isofix baby seat mountings? How can I tell?

Chris

I know that 07 models have ISOFIX.

All they are are a pair of inverted U-shaped brackets fixed to the shell of the car in the gap between the squab and back of the rear seat. If your rear seats fold down release them and tip them very slightly forward, which opens up a gap with the seat base, it becomes easier to find them. They are pretty hard to find even if you know what you are looking for.

Most ISOFIX seats come with an intermediate mounting which you fix semi-permanently to the ISOFIX mountings, and when you remove the seat from the car you leave these fixings in place.

I thought thats cars which are Isofix ready had little zips on the seats which allow access to the brackets

Not on the Superb,

My 04 comfort has got it.

Push the rear of the seat squab down as far as you can where it meets the seat back, if you can see a black round tube with 4 U section brackets (2 per side) running the width of the car then you have ISOFIX.

HTH

my 53 comfort has got them
