Im looking into getting the VW ipod interface for my Fabia just a quick question really - does anyone know if the interface works with the new Ipod Classic 6th generation because on the vw accessories site it only lists upto the Ipod 4th Generation. Are the connectors on the bottom of the ipods all the same socket?

Not sure if they are all the same, but the 6th generation classic, new 3rd gen nano and 2nd gen nano are the same

I should think as long as it's the same connector it will work (as far as I can tell it's a glorified USB port with some extras for charging etc).

On a side note I had an older interface in my Fabia that worked a treat (got it fitted end of 05), but I have had to have a newer denison unit in my Octy that I think may have had a part in causing it to brick out (see locked up radio thread) so you might want to just confirm what unit is going in (I have had a few teething problems with the interface unit before this that I was just hoping was going to settle out)
