Is 14.46 Volts Overcharging ?

Featured Replies

Just got a Bosch 'silver' car battery, works alright, but is 14.46 Volts too much ?

Using a digital meter.

Does a 'silver' battery have a different internal resistance ?

14-15v is about right, this will be when the engine is running as the alternator is trying to keep the battery charged and supply electricity to the other parts like radio, ecu, spark plugs, lights etc so nothing to worry about as ive checked this on all cars ive had. when you switch it off the voltage will sit down between 11.5 and 12.5v.
