Parrot fitted!

Featured Replies

Hey peeps,

I've just had my parrot car kit fitted by halfords and they have done a wonderful job! It looks good. They have mounted it onto the drawer under the stereo, as the door is stuck closed thanks to the police lol.

Anyway, halfords have left me a wire in the back seat which looks like a car kit cable? Its long, has a box that says telemodule mute on it and has a 3.5mm mono jack and various leads on the end with an iso on the other...is this for a fully fitted car kit and cradle style? They have fitted the new one for the parrot and this looks like skoda oem kit?

Any ideas how to work out what phone its for or anything if it is?

You sure its not something the police left behind??

May well be :P Just looks and feels very oem..plus there is a scew hole on the side of the dash where a phone cradle could/would have been.

That sounds like the parrot box. The telmute box will be something to do with a car radio/phone kit.

Is it blue?

Npe, its black. Halfords have fitted the new parrot box etc, and it all works :) This has obviously been taken out when they fitted it. It looks very dusty lol

Will be part of an old kit or to allow the radio to be muted by an input.

You can bin it :)

Hey Chris....how many miles has your Superb got on the clock if you don't mind me asking?

On a side note, does anyone know if you can add ringtones to the parrot unit? The ones that come with it are pretty pants. You can send new backgrounds to it via bluetooth but I can't find a tones sending option and the parrot site is down lol.

Really good unit though, voice recognition is wicked and sound clarity is brilliant!

Which Parrot kit is it?

3200ls

I don't believe the ringtones are changeable from the pre-installed Parrot ones, I'm afraid.

Nice unit though

Any photos of it installed?

Will take some when I do my cleaning tommorow :)

Halfords did a pretty good job :) But they have installed it on the drawer under the stereo, meaning I can't have a double din headunit now unless I move the unit about somewhere else or use the drawer which was stuck anyway lol

You could always get a Dashmount or Brodit 'no holes' mount if/when you wanted to move the display, and mount it on that. They offer various fittings. Not a difficult job to sort...

Brodit (other places sell them, just an example)

Dashmount (direct sales)

Both are as good as each other, just depends who has the most suitable one for you, in Superb fitment...
