Music Mixers

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I am looking into some Music Mixing software for my computer:

- Cost would be below £200 G.B.P.

- There is no need to worry about Spec for my computer(s) ;)

- I want some good software, nothing cheap and nasty also somthing that you people yourself use.

Ideas or links I can look into please?

Many thanks,

Rob

Hi Rob,

Are you looking to create music tracks or mix tracks a la Peter Tong? :D

I have had (limited) use of Sony Sound Forge for editing and knitting together tracks and I am about to start using Fruity Loops for creating some music.

Traktor for DJ style mixing, or Cakewalk Sonar 7 for recording "real" instruments, or Reason for all digital instruments :)

- Thanks for the help here, I have a few ideas on mixing a few tracks so Traktor sounds a good choice atm.

Might be worth looking at Sony's Acid Pro as well then. :)

Cubase SX is the boy for recording.

Cool Edit Pro 2 (old version of soundforge) great for wav editing and creating samples. It can also be used as a piece of recording software.

Traktor for mixing.

You have PM!

You also have a PM :D

You'll need a decent soundcard to record with, the analog to digital converters of normal soundcards can't really hack proper recording.

PM if you want more info on recording.

Thanks for that - I have sent you a PM.

Thanks for your reply was really helpful,

A little late with a post I guess but meh, I use FL Studio, it's pretty awesome, and I'm sure I saw some guy hooked up his decks to the Fruity Scratcher and he could control it from there..

Anyways my music is on myspace: Tom Phillips on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Videos if you want to hear pretty decent results from FL Studio (I'm not being big headed or anythin.. :P)

cubase for making the music. i use mixmiester studio on my pc for making up mix compliations and does the job. really depends what you need it to do for you.
