I have been reading these forums, and decided to bite the bullet and order myself a new car. A brand new Superb Elegance 2.0D. - My first brand new car, and I am excited.

I was talking to the dealer about bluetooth. They are a Parrot installer, but it turns out that they have been reading about putting the European bluetooth kits into a UK spec car, and they are pretty sure they can do it. - apparently they have read about somebody retrofitting their own online, and it works like a charm. Their research indicates that it requires the Maxidot display (standard on the Superb and high model Octavias, optional on most Ŝkodas)

Anyway, the upshot of it is, they are going to try and get hold of one for me, price it up and install it at the dealership.

I anybody is interested, I will keep you all informed. The dealer is very interested in this as they want to be able to offer it as an 'aftersale accessory'.

The maxidot on the new octavias is different to the superb. The bluetooth cannot be fitted to the superb afaik.

It'll be an old new one. Also, the dealer said that there is not indication on weather the kit will be included in the new one. You have to expect it though.

i suspect the dealers dont know

Our Superb 2.0lt TDI registered September 07 has a Bluetooth Parrot fitted. I don't know whether it came from SUK with it fitted or if the Dealership (Marlborough Isleworth) fitted It.

You wouldn't be able to fit OEM BT to a current model but I suspect the new one will be similar to the A5 Platform cars o it should be possible and hopefully an option/standard.

What are your thoughts on this, why can't it be fitted? What is the difference between the Superb and the Octavia?

The current model Superb uses a different setup for the internal communications and isn't compatible with the unit.

I have seen spyshots of the new Superb which has the same column stalks and headunit as the Octavia/Golf/Lean et al and therefore would have the same communications setup.
