Right choice of speakers for upgrade?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I am thinking of upgrading my speakers in my Octy vRS and since reading the forums it seems that some Pioneer speakers can be direct replacements.

On that point I am looking at fitting the below Pioneer models

Pioneer TS-G1718 in the front

Pioneer TS-G1318 Speakers in rear.

As I am a complete novice to this, but will be assisted by a friend I was wondering if the above speakers are a good choice and if there are any suprises I should watch out and what else do I need?

The speakers will be driven by the standard HU for now but later in the year, I intend to buy the PIONEER DEH P7500MP head unit. Is this a good choice and will this head unit and speakers complement each other nicely?

Any advice are comments would be very much appreciated

cheers

I have a 7500MP for sale in mint condtion. Any sensible offer would be considered.....

Buy an Alpine! Night and Day!

Small magnet 17cm speakers will go in no probs. But higher quality ones wont fit without modification.

I just manage to fit a set of Infinity 5 1/4" Components in with a 6mm MDF bracket. Still had to bend some metal out of the way for the magnet.

Alpine SXS-1357 component speakers r cheap and very good for the money. Was goin to buy them but i had the Infinitys lying about.

If u r fitting tweeters to the mirror pods, then some hot glue will b needed to hold them in place(after snapping off two of the original clips!).
