felicia 1.6 cutting out when lights are on

Featured Replies

hi,

My nans 'R' reg skoda felicia 1.6 has recently been cutting out when returning to idle as you approach a junction. i originally thought it could be somthing to do with the fueling but it only cuts out when the lights are used (Eg. at night), after the engine has stopped it will fire up again almost immediately once the key is turned.

Can anybody shed any light on to the situation.

Chris

i aint used to this modern stuff, landrovers are more my thing

It sounds like an electrical problem, or maybe the idle speed is just too low?

I thought the same thing as KenONeill.

I think it might be ideling to low. When the lights are on and the heater is cranking out max (its winter) it uses more of the engine power to make electricity (simply spoken). This combined with a dirty throttlebody it might make it drop a bit to low when letting your foot of the pedal.

So just turn up the idle a bit and see if that works. =)
