This has got to be psychological but my car has just come out of warranty and for some strange reason seems to be coming alive. It's a 1.9tdi 130 superb elegance and has 28k on the clock. It seems a little quieter and has a bit more urge. At what age does this engine really start to loosen up, I would have thought it would be before now. I also expected , now that it is out of warranty, for things to go wrong and for me to hear allsorts of bad noises but the opposite seems to be true. Now I am even thinking of a re-map or whatever will give me more power and pick up. Any recommendations?

Sounds like you will get a remap whatever!!!

As a rule they need about 40000 miles on them.

My V6 is starting to slowly improve, but it's only got 20000 on the clock.
