Cam timing belt service trouble

Hello

After posting a thread about a bad timing belt fitting on my Octavia 1.9 tdi 90 (I am returning the vehicle for service tomorrow), I was wondering has anyone else had trouble with mechanics workmanship in this area. I only saved myself a few pounds on the dealerships and will probably go to Skoda for my Fabia. Would anyone only go to dealers for this heavy work? Thanks.

Not personally, but I believe that people from all over the planet have had problems with Dod Gee Motors mechanics!

Neigbour with a Fabia Mk4 called me recently, his drivers door and the rear (right) passenger doors were partly open with what looked like a stainless steel rod jamming the two doors in their partly open/closed positions, to make a long story short, it was the door umbrella that apparently had shot out somehow or other and jammed the two doors, he had partially opened the back door to let his dog out I think and had let his own door partially open, or something like that. Hello My skoda start keeping rpm in neutral around 900 to 950, yesterday i went for ride on motorway and engine light came on then few minutes after dpf light came on. Drove for 2 hours no issuses turbo works fine also power is fine, traffic was cray so was not able keep driving in high rpm. Will only driving in high RPM help to clear out or not? Should i use dpf additive? also it is 182k miles... Today i started the car in the morning and rpm was at normal.also dpf light is gone but engine lig

Hi I would like some advice feedback. I just had my 3rd major service for my 2023 Skoda Octavia VRS and noticed that this time they used 0w-20 oil but the previous they used 0w-30w oil. According to my understanding the oil recommended for the tsi engine is 0w-20 to its thinner viscosity meeting emissions regulations and being better for the turbo engines under heavy loads than the 0w-30 which has a thicker viscosity. Thankfully i don't place much load on the engine, apart for loading the car f

Phone not ringing for incoming calls

When I receive a call it does not now ring on the infotainment system although I can see I have a call on the screen. I wondered if it might be my phone so I tested it with my wife's, with the same result - or lack of. Both phones will ring in her car though. Any ideas please?
