noise from front not from suspension/not related to speed

Featured Replies

Hello,

I moght need some advice here.

I have a 02 reg Fabia 56.000 on the clock.Regularly serviced, new cam belt,3 new wheels.

Now I get a scratching noise from the left front wheel. The noise is not rom the suspension and is not related to speed or bumpy roads.

The noise gets aggravated when the car is wet ie after a wash or in a rainy day.

More often when you move the car /accelerate or brake.

The dealer said that it is not fron the suspension.

Any ideas?

That's a head scratcher all right.

Check the tyre very carefully, looking for any indication of a screw or nail head, or flints in the tread.

Thank yu ken.

But nothing in the tyres and the front tyres are new

This might be worth a try. Take the wheel off and shake it. If it rattles, take it to a tyre place, and ask them to check if there's anything inside it. It's rare, but I've seen this happen before.

Possible a small stone trapped between the brake pad and the disc??
