TFSI VRS squeaking from engine!

Featured Replies

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this or has any idea what it is?

When cold and idling there is a definate squeaking noise that squeaks about 4 times per second and gets faster when you press the accelerator. The car feels normal to drive and once warmed up the noise goes away. I've checked for any fault codes with VAG-COM but nothing.

The car has done just over 13K and has just had it's first variable service.

Cheers,

Rob

If it's definately coming from the engine then it could be the fan belt? Generally this would be more of a continious noise that stops after a few revs - but worth a check. If it is then it probably will dissapear (noise not belt!) when then weather starts to warm up.

Thanks for the reply, on closer inspection the noise is coming from under the engine cover on the left hand side as you look into the engine bay from the front of the car. Best way to describe the "squeaks" is that they sound like "adult activities" on a squeaky mattress!!
