Where can I buy a water Pump - Metal Impeller?

Featured Replies

Can anyone please tell me where I can purchase a water pump with the metal impeller for my vRS?

Err, try the dealers.

Or failing that your local motor factors.

They are not as expensive as you may think.

Mine came from euro car parts too

err, the standard water pump has a brass shaft but only a plastic impellor.

first line make them and should be available from a decent motorfactors like part co, allparts etc:)

Your local GSF. There's one in most towns.

Just got mine (metal impeller) for Fabia vRS from Eurocar Parts

Euro Car Parts UK - European Car Parts

£23.20 + VAT + delivery (approx £7 I ordered quite a bit of stuff so delivery - per item - wasn't bad)

Give them a ring - very helpful.

Euros have 2 versions ATM. 1 is £17.30+VAT, the other is £29.95+VAT have you got your part number to hand so I can confirm which I need as I'm assuming 1 is plastic.

Also did you get your cambelt kit from them? Its coming out as £88.50+VAT.

Cheers

Genuine ones dont come with metal impellers sadly mate.

I got my metal impellered one from a main dealer, who fit it.

I wouldn't imagine a dealer would use spurious parts ( but I may be wrong )

VAG dont make metal impeller water pumps for the PD engine. If they did fit a metal impeller pump then it wasnt a genuine one.

I see.

Well, it had one fitted, but the car's sold now anyway, so the new owner doesn't have to worry about it.

Very kind of you :)

Chap called White or something similar.

Cambelt kit for FabvRS was approx £67 +VAT IIRC

So, silly question - will the metal impeller one theoretically last forever?

I'm guessing the bearings would go eventually but should last a couple of belt changes I would think

definitly last longer rob as what normally fails on the pump is the impellor, it breaks up and/or comes away from the shaft.

a metal version won't do this :)
