Door plastics

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

This morning I've noticed that the plastics stripes on the side of the door are peeling off. Any idea on what would be best to use on this?

Thanks in advance.

Bit of no more nails, or a simpler less painfull way is to buy some double sided foam stuff, most car shops do it.

I'd probably put two new strips on as they look a bit bent and once they have bent you will find it hard to get them to stay.

The trim tape/no more nails approach never seemed to work as well as the sticky on the original parts to me.

I would source two more strips as well as they don't look like they are peeling off, more like they have been pulled off........:thumbdwn:

I agree with Baker. Someone has bent them.

Believe it or not this is caused by getting in and out of the car, you rub against it and the wet does the rest, my Omegas used to be classics for this.

Does anyone know the part number and what it would cost? Also is it something I can do or is it recommended to be fitted by professionals?

Thanks

i pulled part of the strip off my seat putting it in the garage one night and stuck it back on with super glue. it was fine after that.

Easy job, just rip the rest off, it might need a hot kettle of water to make it come off easier, the trims will need painting if they are colour coded, but should just either clip on the door or be double sided tape, cost I think is about 25 quid a strip hth.
