Scotch Guarding Oct 2 seats

Featured Replies

Hi got my black Octi 2 vrs in september and decided not to pay 150 quid for it to be scotch guarded and bought a number of large aerosol cans off e-bay for less than 30 quid. Haven't applied it yet due to not knowing exactly what the materials on the seats are. The tins warn about using it on leather although i think suede is ok. Anyone know if the half leather cream parts are at the front and inner sides of the seats are? Has anyone scotch guarded their seats/carpets and with what results?

First Skoda for me. Its my day to day car whilst my 911 (993C2S) sits in the garage waiting for the salt to leave these north penine roads. The Skoda is awesome. AWESOME.

911 might be sitting there a bit longer because the Skoda suppresses the urge....

Hi m8 did my Mk1 octy seats with "supaguard" it helps any staining that then goes on but have been told it wears off with repeated "in/out" movement of passengers lol...it soon wears off and needs reaplying frequently

Thanks m8.

Scotchguard for sofas etc usually lasts between 1 and 3 years on furniture so if you have that stuff it might well be ok.

The grey material is Alcantara and is a man made fabric.

Alcantara®

I asked around about protecting it but was advised not to put anything on it and just use a dilute cleaner on it.

So far (touch wood) SWMBO hasn't gotten any chocolate or make up on it.

check the cans you bought for use by dates. the supagarf rep showed my that allot of what you can buy unoffically is stuff thats been thrown out as its out of date. he said its been known for them to leave marks on the seats, so certainly test a section first.

also do it in a well ventilated area as these tins contain harmful stuff and our valeters sometimes use masks when appllying them.
