Tri-Xenons on a Superb

Featured Replies

Eh, my turn to be blur, Say when superb Bixenon lights meants that the dip beams and high beams should be xenons, am i right? How abt the FOGs? Anyway to get the fogs to be xenons also?

Its seems to me that i have lost my leveling for my xenon headlights which i am not comfortable with I prefer the org halogen light with adjuster.

Say is there any HIDs in the market that have one ballast but two bulbs?

I meant i can use it for dip beams and fog light together. But it seems that most of the hid will come with one ballast and one bulb. If i want to retro fit my old Halogen Headlights with HIDs, i will need 3 ballast and 3 bulbs, one for dip beam, one for Fog and lastly for High Beam.

Anyone can comment?

BI-XENON means XENON DIPPED AND MAIN BEAM.

I don't want to keep repeating myself but I will say it one more time:

RETRO-FIT OF XENON IN ANY OEM LAMP IS ILLEGAL................

Department for Transport - Aftermarket HID (Xenon) headlamps

Xenon in the foglamp function is illegal I am afraid, there are no Xenon foglamps even in production as yet that are approved to the ECE or SAE standards, maybe in aftermarket but not on an OEM lamp.

There seems to be a country specific rules also applying in these aftermarket HID-sets. In Finland it depends on the manufacturing year whether the needed equipments are:

-Headlight washers and/or

-Levelling adjuster (either self-levelling or manual one)

In any terms the lamp unit itself should be marked for Xenon use to make it legal.

However confusing is that for example Bosch are making these aftermarket HID HighBeams which are ECE-approved and comes with a huge price tag:

1. Helsingin Autoextra - Bosch Compass 2000 Xenon

English link:

Bosch Automotive Aftermarket - Lighting technology - Bosch additional headlights Compass 2000 and NAVIGATOR

Seems to be individual morality issue if one installs these or not. Personally I prefer and value the life of mine and my family so that during the long dark winter here up north every bit of light is needed because of the reindeers and elks that wander our roads in wild. ..Ok a bit OT but just my 2cents...

Aftermarket is a very grey area........

Here more pix of the installs and wirings as promised..

I just might move the left ballast inside that metal thing its currently attached to. Then only the wires coming from Headlamp unit would tell this mod.. Right one is totally hidden because of the intake duct.

Say, when u say main beam u meant the high beam right?

Dipped Beam = Low Beam

Main Beam = High Beam

(Sorry habit of using the terminology from my job........:P)

Hi Baker,

Eh there is nothing in my PM box?

You box must be full then or your sent items full mate as I definately sent you one...........not looking to sell my headlamps I am afraid mate..........

I fully understand the legality's on it, just saying properly adjusted retro fit (in a projector headlight) are no worse for blinding people than factory fit.

This might not be the best thing to say on a public forum...

RETRO-FIT OF XENON IN ANY OEM LAMP IS ILLEGAL................

I was considering retro-fit Xeon's.

Now I'm too scared of Baker. :D

The only reason I feel so strongly about it is because I spend months working on Headlamps to get them approved and legal..................then people throw all that work out of the window...............each to their own though......

Don't worry about my thoughts though..........if you can get away with it, go for it!!
