Fabia: I've just fitted a genuine headlamp cleaning system and...

Ok, I've finally worked it out! I foolishly assumed that the signal wire for 'headlamps on' would be anyway connected to the bordnetz. Of course it isn't, because motor manufacturers are not generous and don't fit anything that is not required.

So as usual, the answer was staring me in the face all the time...

I've just fitted a pair of (genuine) telescopic headlamp cleaners to my SDI Fabia (Why? Because I will be moving to Sweden soon and I want to blend in with everyone else...)

Anyhow, I've fitted these things, pipework, double-pump reservoir and all, and they work perfectly, using a temporary switch under the dashboard. However, I want them to work with the windscreen washers, as with factory fit cars, but the Bordnetz (aka: on-board power supply control unit) doesn't seem keen on giving me a feed when the windscreen washers are worked (with headlamps on). I have coded it with the VAS5052 using Guided Functions to tell bordnetz that it's now got headlamp cleaners fitted, and tested for a (positive) feed at pin T18b/14 (according to the wiring diagram) but nothing seems to be happening. Anyone got any bright ideas?

Kind regards to all,

Nick
