Forgetful stereo behaviour!

Hi, my Mk2 Octavia stereo seems to have a mind of it's own ... I can find no pattern for this but it seems to struggle to remember what it was last doing

I.e. I could be listening to CD 4 in the changer - get out of the car lock and get back a little later and it reverts to radio ... sometimes it will revert to the single cd ... other times it would do exactly what it should rememeber where it was and continue to play.

Any ideas - suggestions?

Mine does the same thing. It gives the car a bit of its own personality!

Never had this but changing the pre-set radio station using the wheel control is awful. If you flick slowly between stations to see whats on in does weird things like go in this order of pre-set number: 1/1/1/1/1/1/2/2/2/2/2/1/1/1/1/1/3/2/2/2 etc and never gets as far as pre-set 4. I find out that if you quickly flick through the pre-sets it does go 1/2/3/4/5/6/1/2/3/4/5/6 etc but this means you can't momentarily listen to whats on the other stations.

Yes - i find it really annoying - anyone else think the same?

I think that there is a radio update which should address these problems. Mine used to be rather forgetful, but since it went in for its 1st service, it hasn't forgotten since. A software update was performed at the service, which was somethng to do with the radio.

Mine only forgets one way, it always goes radio. Never goes radio to CD and never switches between changer and onboard CD.

Another oddity occurs when you change all the CDs from the changer. It remembers the time into the last track it was playing and adds it to the time of the first track it plays. No amount of track shifting or CD changing will shake it off. As soon as it completes a track (any track!) it sorts itself out.

Don't you just love 'em!!
