Wrong Car Tax Band - What to do?

Featured Replies

What Corsa is it?

My Sister had a 2002 1.2 SXI and that was about £125 to tax per annum (I think)

My wifes is (was) a 1.2 SXI Corsa 2002

The DVLA has it in tax band D i.e. 151 - 165 co2/g/km

If you look at most places including the SMMT (respected organistion) website , it comes up as 146 g/km !!! which is Band C

But as I said the DVLA were not interested , although to us it made a £25 difference for a year , but it was more the principle than the cost !!

You will find that later corsa's i.e. XEP engines (2004-05 onwards ?) , are in the correct tax band , your sisters may be a later one ?

No hers was a 2002 model, got written off after it went in a hedge in 2005 just a few months after my Astra got wrote off.

DVLA won't be interested,

Just checking the DVLA site and hers was the 3 door model non ac which weighed in at Band C.

Back then my cousins 1.9TDI was £110 to tax and my sisters Corsa £120.
