question about radio cd symphony

Featured Replies

Hello,

Soon I become my new Octavia combi L&K 1.8T.

There is an sympony radio/cd player and cd changer in it.

I seached the whole internet and all forums for just one question.

I want to put an external amplifier to the sympony radio.

Is that possible?

Is there a "line-out" or an RCA pre out ?

Who can answer that queation for me.

Greeting from the Netherlands!

Luc

Luc, a warm welcome from another Dutchie. Happy to see you join the club!

There are heaps of stereo and speaker experts here - I wisely steer clear of those threads and will trust my Kenwood M9021 and standard speakers are up to the job... So I'm betting the answer to your question is already hidden in one of those threads (or do a search on "Symphony" or "head unit"), or else one of the my friendly fellow Briskodians ( ) will point you to it.

Meanwhile, tell us more about your new car. For one, what colour will it be? :D

Hai Mattijs,

Thank you for your warm welcome.

I'm already driving an Octavia combi L&K 1.8T(deep sea blue), chipped by Wetterauer.

Now I bought the same version of the Octavia in color Black Magic, again with leather interior. I have not chosen for the "wood" finish but there is a new option call "graniet".

Then I choosed the multifunctional steeringwheel and the rainsensor.

I am not sure if this car will be chiptuned from the first kilometer.

I will wait untill I'm sure that the car is good and that there are no futher problems.

By the way,

You are the only one who replied my question.

I hope someone can help me.

I can't imagine that no one even tried to install an amplifier to that radio.

However, thanks anyway en CU later!

Luc

Luc,

Did a search myself on the issue and found nothing on the Symphony here - except for people wanting to swap it for something zippier!

Maybe it's of some help to know the Symphony is made by Grundig. On the

Dutch Grundig site you'll notice that the 3000 series has a lot in common with the Symphony units. Going by the specs (incl. Speed Controlled Volume and Phone-In) I'd say the 3590 internals come close, but with the 2000 series' design...

However, not a single word on RCA preouts (while I have three 4.5V RCA preouts in my Kenwood but won't use any of them!), so a call to the Grundig importer might be a wise thing to do.

P.S. So the Black Magic club - or The Dark Side, as some will lovingly call it - has seen another one coming over to it :D

I have just checked the Symphony Radio/CD unit under my office desk & I am afraid there are no RCA's (or any other type of Amp Connections) on the bak of the unit. Only the multi plug for the wiring loom.

Sorry to disappoint !!

Hai guys,

Graham,

Could you please check the link in the message Manny send.

There is a drawing of the back of the radio.

Could you confirm that it is the same connection on your Symphony radio, or is it a different one.

If it is different, would you be so kind to make a drawing for me of the back of the Symphony radio and send it to me by mail.

Then I can compare it with some infomation I found on a German Site.

Thanks!

Hi Luc,

Sorry for the Delay with a reply.

Yes the layout is exactly the same on the rear of the Head Unit.

Where are you in the Netherlands ?

I get over to Amersfoort every other month for work.
