mild remap

Featured Replies

Car: Octy-2, 1.9 PD105, MT, 10K km on odo, all stock, with 1 yr warranty left.

I need a mild/gentle remap that

>adds minimal additional strain on engine bits (clutch, turbo, etc.) when driven normally

>offers good overtaking ability in 4th/5th gear for speeds up to 130KMPH/80mph (my only reason for remap)

>does not degrade low-end city driveability of stock settings.

I am not interested in top speed, MPG or emissions. (no legal requirements)

What is the perfect remap for my requirements?

Second part of the question:

I live in India so my "easy" options are very limited:

1. Only CustomCode has a local dealer (needs a 6hrs of drive to get there)

2. BlueFin and other DIY options with maps that can be emailed and it is switchable.

I do not want a remap just for the heck of it. I need good overtaking characteristics without stressing engine bits.

I can spend time, effort and money to get the perfect map - within reason ;-)

Appreciate your help.

edit: i have vag-com (wonderful tool) if it makes any difference.

I would have thought Bluefin was the obvious choice if it is available.

As for a mild map - It's more about how you drive it really rather than turning things down. If you bury the throttle all the time at low revs you will trouble the clutch and DMF however smooth and progressive accelleration will reward you with a nice drive.
