so ... a bit puzzled with the door speakers at the mo

the door takes a 5.25inch speaker, but they have to be really shallow yea?

but with an adaptor will take a 6.5inch speaker ... and they can be deeper?

do i have to make one or can i buy one???

and what speakers are good???

i want components, 6.5inch, good SQ but they must be pretty loud!

oh yea ive got a budget of about £100

if they can be got from halfords thats even better, but ill get them from wherever really

cheers guys

Standard speaker is 5 14", includes a substantial plastic stand-off and is rivetted to the door. Any replacement speaker will need a specer of some sort as there's only about 20mm behind the hole befor you hit the wind guide. Get Plastic spacers for a mk4 Golf or make them out of MDF or similar.

As an example of what fits (just), without distorting the door card, I have JL VR650CS. IMO anything deeper than this will require surgery to the door cards to allow the speaker and cone to sit far enough out from the door.
