Is that your excuse for when I come round to lap you................again? :D

That looks brilliant mate

I've got a set up sat in my garage that I really need to get fitted.

A couple of questions;

- what size speakers do you have F+R

- which order did you do it all in - I dont know where to start

- any general tips to share??

NICE...i will say one tiny little thing tho...ive always been told fire the subs at the rear of the car and let the noise bounce back at you off the boot lid, simply for SQ reasons its just that the sound wave wil reach your ear at the correct peak makeing it sound better, just think where the sound waves are going with the the sub pointing up...bear in mind each wave is about 12foot long so when it hits your boot and bounces back and goes past your ears its at the perfect peak...pointing it up god knows where its going..see my point?

starting mine this weekend in the octy will post pics up when done

I've fitted 5.25in mids in the doors but you can fit bigger. Think Xavier has fitted 17cm in his. I've left the rear speakers standard and don't plan on changing them.

Its taken me a few weeks now to do it all' date=' doing bits here and a bit there.

1) Fit head unit. Need to use a adapter plate from autoleads. Also needed to trim some plastic of the the tray below the head unit. This is so you can push the head unit tray all the way in.

2) Remove carpet from the boot floor. You will need to cut the carpet under the rear seats as it looks like the rear seat are fitted after the carpet.

3) Make the amp support for the spare wheel bay. At the moment I've just velcro'd it to the floor. Seems good enough.

4) route power cable into the cabin. This was fun! Used a gromet that is located behind the glove box. Yes you have to take the glove box out. Just remove the screws at the top of the glove box and the one on the side by the passenger door. It now pulls straight out.

5) Route power, remote and RCA leads to the boot. I ran these down the centre console and under the carpet. This is pretty straight forward. Just make sure to keep the power and RCA leads seperated. Power down the passenger side. RCA down the drivers side.

6) Now wire everything up. As for the earth cable. I unbolted one of the seat belt thingys (technical term) Scaped some paint away for a good earth connection. Put the earth cable in place then bolted the seat belt thingy back on.

7) False floor. Use the orignal carpet as a template. Draw round it and cut it out. I used 6mm MDF. Seems alright. Note you will have to cut away were the metal thingys are at the back of the boot so the new floor can slide past. You don't need to cut away for the front ones as you slide the floor under them first.

8) Carpet new floor. I left about 2in of overhang at the back to go under the rear seats. This is to stop you seeing the cables coming in to the boot.

9) Front door speakers. See Xaviers guide. [url']http://www.briskoda.net/forums/showthread.php?t=9647[/url]

Hope this helps

Top notch mate - cheers

Hmm' date=' in mine, I take out the 3 small torx scres inside the glove box at the top and two under the glove box. Never thought there was one on the side by the passenger door  I'll take a look next time - looks like it's one less screw to bother about

Re false floor, I did mine differently: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/showthread.php?t=9209

Any pics of yours? ;)
