vRS shocks and H&R springs

Featured Replies

Does anyone know how much lower my 1.8T would be from standard with a set of vRS shocks and H&R springs. The H&R springs claim to lower the vRS by 20mm so I guess if the vRS is about 25mm lower than the 1.8T then the whole lot should be about 45mm lower??? Also, if I have vRS shocks, do I still need to/or can I, fit the springs specific for the 1.8T rather than vRS springs. I'm just trying to get a cheapish solution to lower my car but without getting bright orange or yellow shocks a la Koni. Cheers

Hi mate - I've just fitted Cobra springs for my vRS with the standard shockers with no problems :D, they state to lower the car by 20mm and look like this when fitted (the rear is a touch lower than it should be due to my 17's being in the back) - more than happy with the result though.

I will replace the shocks with something uprated, but will do for now :)

Hi Bjorn,

thanks for that mate, the motor looks good. :D I've got a standard 1.8T (not vRS) but I can get hold of a set of vRS shocks and wonder what springs to put on? I think I should go for 1.8T lowering springs and the vRS shocks should be OK with those. I just didn't want to have a weird ride with imbalanced shocks/springs combo. Do you know if the vRS shocks are uprated compared to the standard Octy shocks?

Car looks really good. Have been meaning to remove my rub strips down the side but haven't seen many people who have done it. Looks really good. think i might give it a go!
